Dear Friends 26 March
It's yesterday that four pastors, three college students and me ,i.e.
Rev.Sugimnoto, Rev.Tateno, Rev.Yasui, Rev.Koizumi, Tasuku Suzuki, my daughters Hanako, Eiko and me started the survey program in Sendai and the surrounding areas.
We visited Tagajyo city hall and one of the evacuation centers together with Mr. Ito who is the member of Child Fund Japan.
The city hall is just the front line of the support program.
Many young volunteer staffs were working.
The pillar were covered with signs.
Many offers of assistance from the various associations were comming.
We talked with the staff of Volunteer Center, procurement official, the staff of livelihood support center and the member of Roman Catholic Caritas Japan.
We promised to send some items they need.
Tagajo campus of Tohoku Gakuin University is next to Tagajyo city hall.
Tsunami came to the railway station which is about 300 meters away from our campus.
I didn't notice it when the earthquake occured.
I was working at this campus for many years.
I have never come to mind that I saw such a sorrowful view of Tagajyo town.
Thousands of people were forced to evacuate.
It must take years for reconstruction of this town.
Please pray for us.
