長島さんレポート20110505

Dear Friends 5 May

In Japan, we have the tradition to visit the each family grave on the Higan season i.e. two periods of seven days with the middle day falling on the spring or autumn equinox.
I couldn't visit it in the last month, I did today together with my family.
Because Nagashima family grave is in Toyama where I was born, I had a new grave for my son eighteen years ago here in Sendai.
You can see the name of my son Yujiro Nagashima and the words of Jesus on the stone.

I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die John 11:25 (New International Version, c2011)

We saw a big prefabricated house at the entrance of the cemetery.
We have never seen it before.
These must be built recently.
I noticed it being the temporary morgue.
We saw many grave stones gotten down.

I love flowers, especially small.
We know Jesus loves them too.
We have varoius species of flowers in this season in Japan.
And today, we have a the boys festival.
We take baths in iris leaves.

After visiting the grave, we took a lunch break in downtown of Sendai.
We see the new green leaves of zelkova trees in the street.
At the same time, we saw the red posters on some buildings.
The strings "Danger" was written on the posters.
I found that a photo exhibition was held in the department store.
That was the photo exhibition of this disaster.
People were seeing the photos without a word.
Some were covering their mouth with hands and some were tearing up.

I had a call from Mr.Kawabe who lives in Miyako after I came back to home.
He told me that he built a prefabricated house at the place where his store had been built.
But the local government restricted building new houses in the affected area, Mr. Kawabe asked for many times and got the permission of it.
His new temporary store dose't have the electric power and enough goods to sell for now.
He must meet a lot of difficulties from now.
I keep pray for him.
